You have to Start Somewhere

Starting point as an author entrepreneur

You may be asking, where am I starting? That's a good question. I wrote my first book, Eclipse of the Triple Moons, in May 2018. At the time of this article I have sold 100 copies, sixty percent e-books and forty percent hardcover. Then I quit advertising and now I sell one or two a quarter, mostly to friends that heard I wrote a book and wanted a copy.

In late 2019, I started writing book 2 in the Mountain King Series, Zita's Revenge. I finished the first draft in early March 2020. Then I wrote book 3 in the Mountain King Series, Ring of Consequence, in April 2020. I worked for an entertainment company and when Covid 19 hit and the live theater, sports and concerts stopped happening the company furloughed many employees. I fell into the furlough category. Bad news, because I lost a great source of income, but good news because I can concentrate on writing. I finished the first draft of book 3 in two months.

It's late September 2020. Covid 19 is raging throughout the United States and I'm editing Zita's Revenge and beginning this journey as an author entrepreneur. I expect to have Zita's Revenge available for sale as an e-book by January 1st, 2021. I can write a first draft fast, but the editing for my book takes me a long time. Too long, if I expect to be quick to market.

My starting point, one published book, one book in the pipeline to be published in the next three months, and a third book with a first draft completed. You have to start somewhere.

Cheers. Remember to Write Everyday. Ken.
